ANNUAL REPORTS
I am delighted to present the annual report for the academic year 2023–2024. As the saying goes, “All big things come from small beginnings,” our college, established in 1986 as the JKK Munirajah Medical Research Foundation- Annai JKK Sampoorani Ammal College of Pharmacy, has flourished into a leading institution in pharmaceutical education and research. Over the years, under the visionary leadership of our beloved Chairman, Dr. JKK Munirajah AVL, the institution evolved into a centre of excellence.
In 1992, we launched the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) program. Postgraduate programs were introduced in 2003, initially in Pharmaceutics, followed by the establishment of additional disciplines:
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry& Pharmaceutical Analysis -2008
- Pharmacology & Pharmacy Practice -2009
- Regulatory affairs &Pharmacognosy – 2021
In 2008, the college achieved a significant milestone by starting Ph.D. research programs, further enhanced with the introduction of the Pharm. Dprogram in 2012.
Our College received Grade A from National Assessment and Accreditation Council & we actively participated and submitted the reports to National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) in every year
To address the growing demand for pharmacy professionals and provide quality education to rural and underserved communities, we established an additional Pharmacy College at TN Palayam in 2015, offering both Diploma and Degree in Pharmacy programs.
Our College have 920 students, supported by a dedicated team of 55 teaching staff, including 14 Ph.D. holders, with 5 faculty members serving as Ph.D. guides, and 25 non-teaching staff providing additional support.
We conducted regular FTP (Faculty Training Program) for Non- teaching staffs in this academic year. Our faculty members attended seminars, conference and workshops in various colleges and other states by getting the sponsorship by the management.
Faculty and students collectively presented 18 research papers in UGC CARE- listed journals, showcasing the institution’s commitment to research. Our faculty actively contributed to academia by publishing books and book chapters.
Our college conducted various seminars, add on courses and some skill development programs for the betterment of students. We have conducted 2 National level Seminars sponsored by The Tamilnadu Dr. M G R Medical University in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology Department; we witnessed the participation over 1,500 students from various colleges.
Our college achieved a 100% results in the Pharm.D & M.Pharm courses and 85% results in B. Pharm & D. Pharm courses. Our student R. Vishnu Priyan (B. Pharm, 90%) secured a University Gold Medal for the academic year 2019–2023 and T. Preethi (Pharm.D, 86%) received a University Gold Medal for the academic year 2017–2023. Our institution has a proud legacy of excellence, with 12 M.Pharm Gold Medals, 3 Pharm.D Gold Medals, and 1 B.Pharm Gold Medal awarded to our students over the years.
Students excelled in various state-level and university-level sports competitions:
- Kabaddi and Volleyball champions at Excel College of Pharmacy, Sankari.
- Cricket and Carrom winners at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Pharmacy, Perambalur.
- Shotput: P. Meivel (III B.Pharm) secured 2nd place at Excel College of Pharmacy, Sankari.
- Discus Throw: M. Karthikeyan (IV B.Pharm) secured 3rd place at Excel College of Pharmacy, Sankari.
- Long Jump: D. Suryasuganthan (IV B.Pharm) secured 3rd place at Excel College of Pharmacy, Sankari.
- Cricket & Volley ball champions at United college of Pharmacy, Coimbatore.
Other than academic and sports our students were actively involved in social activities through NSS program like Diabetes Awareness Camp, Free Health Check Up Camp, Breast Cancer Awareness Programme, Blood Donation, Eye Camp etc.. nearly 300 students actively involved in this program and get certified.
Our student L. Arivozhi (III B.Pharm) received the prestigious Sparkel Award 2025 as "Excellent Young Educational Activist of the Year" from Golden Entertainments and also he received the Illam Sathanaiyalar Award 2025 from Aaram Viruthugal.
As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Our achievements are a reflection of the collective efforts of our management, faculty, staff, and students. We look forward to continuing this journey of excellence, innovation, and societal contribution.
