Eligibility :
A pass in any of the following examinations:
- 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects : Mathematics or Biology
- A pass in D.Pharm course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
- Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations
Scope of Pharm.D :
Pharm.D or Doctor of Pharmacy is one of the new courses introduced in the Indian pharmaceutical education. Pharmacy is considered as the field that leads the community towards a healthy life. The first and foremost role of a pharmacist is to make the patient feel happy about his health and provide better advices for the patient apart from dispensing medicine.
As members of the health care team composed of physicians and nurses, among others, pharmacists have an opportunity for direct involvement with patient care. The knowledge and clinical skills that the contemporary pharmacist possesses make this individual an authoritative source of drug information for physicians, nurses, and patients.
